What the average Canadian thinks about democracy, government overspending, and taxes are some of the things discussed. If you want another choice keep reading.
This site is a forum for all the people in Canada, but specifically for the 'silent majority'. I believe the average Canadian would have much to say if they only had a place to say it where, ultimately, it could make a difference.
I am proud to be a Canadian. However, like all governments, ours is made up of politicians and bureaucrats who, while they may mean well, tend to serve their own ambitions and agenda rather than the people of Canada. One purpose of this page is to make the statement that it does not really matter what party is in office. The problems remain and, we the people, have no structured means of collectively sending a message that we are unhappy.
There is a prevailing attitude in our society of "What can I do?” What's the use?” You can't buck the system." It is easier just to accept what is then to challenge it and change it. This thinking is in error. Every single individual reading this can make a difference. It is a matter of choice, a matter of consciously moving from the passive to the active.
The action can be quiet and unobtrusive. It can be as simple as taking time to think through the problems within your own sphere of knowledge and expertise, and then thinking again to find a solution. The next step is to share both the problem and the solution with other Canadians and you can use this website to do that. It doesn't cost anything except your time.
Anger, or even dismay, with the current system is a useless emotion unless we are prepared to offer counter solutions. I challenge each of you, from whatever line of work you may be in, to take your thinking outside the parameters of what is and use your respective talents to formulate new ideas that will lead to new solutions.
In the meantime I believe we can send a strong message to the politicians of this country at the ballot box. This can be done by simply including on the ballot a square that, in effect, says, "NONE OF THE ABOVE". If enough people mark this square the politicians will be forced to look at the system as a whole and make changes that serve the people.
Working within the present system, the only way to send a message at the ballot box is to form a legitimate federal party. The two objectives of the party would be to provide Canadians a vehicle for protest and the means for the silent majority to have a voice in the affairs of our country. That voice will start here and will be called the People's Voice
There is power in numbers, but first there must be the power of a few with desire and will. To make this a reality it will take a grassroots movement of people like you and I believing in it enough to talk about it, to participate, to get other people believing in it too. I am often reminded of Mother's Against Drunk Drivers and how that incredible force for change started with just one woman named Candy Lightner who was upset enough to do something about it.
This page is the start. It is for people to talk about what they see as being wrong in this country and how to make it right. I am doing my part. Will you do yours?
